The purpose of this article is to make an approach to general didactics from different approaches, to give meaning to the multiple perspectives of teaching, proposing an approach to the specific didactics of visual arts in the rural context of the department of Boyacá, Colombia. Camilloni's (2007) proposal is taken into consideration to reflect on the importance of the arts in the school setting. On the other hand, this article seeks to contribute to the conceptualization and resignification of the specific didactics of artistic education, since there are instrumental conceptions of art that place it in the place of manuality. The foregoing allows the teacher to distinguish elements related to knowing the arts, teaching the arts and educating in the arts, where the importance of aesthetic experiences in school life is highlighted. In other words, it is intended to recognize the importance of the didactics of the visual arts in the rural context of Boyacá and contribute to its conceptualization, resignifying scenarios, practices, words, gestures, images and stories that account for the didactic challenges in society.
