New Curriculum of 3rd and 4th Grades: Forming Citizens for the 21st Century

Abstract

The article analyzes the main foundations, principles and characteristics of the new curriculum for 3rd and 4th grades of high school that will take effect in 2020. It is explained that the need for curricular change responds to the definitions stated in chilean legislation, as well as to the new demands and challenges of the 21st century. The new curriculum represents an opportunity to enhance the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes that are necessary to face these challenges
