COMMUNITY CITIZENSHIP: APPROACHES TO THE PERSPECTIVES OF YOUNG PEOPLE FROM MATTA NORTE NEIGHBORHOOD IN SANTIAGO, CHILE

Abstract

The article addresses the topic of citizenship in young people who live in the Matta Norte neighborhood in Santiago, Chile. The research sought to recognize the perspectives of the male and female inhabitants of this community, particularly young people, towards citizenship and their community exercise. It was designed from a communitarian perspective framed within citizenship studies, based on mixed-method research and a descriptive scope. The study has reflected on aspects enabling us to outline work paths that consider the opportunities and challenges of community citizenship in a disadvantaged neighborhood in the Metropolitan Region.
