Serailized novels and female authors in the second half of the nineteenth century in Chile

Abstract

This paper seeks to highlight the problem of female authorship in the second half of thenineteenth century in Chile, considering the publication strategies and the genres of literary discourse privileged by women writers. In this context, the feuilleton-novel is seen as a genre that allowed writers to provide the author-function, within the larger process of emergence of a public space and the construction of an incipient cultural/intellectual field.
