LINKAGE EXPERIENCE THROUGH HEALTH EDUCATION BETWEEN THE EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY AND THE NORTHERN CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY IN A PANDEMIC

Abstract

Objective: To describe an experience of connection with the environment between the educational community belonging to educational establishments in the Coquimbo region and the Universidad Católica del Norte (UCN) nursing career through training that emerged in times of pandemic in 2020. Methodology: Descriptive article that explains the execution of an e-learning training process to educational establishments with a link with the UCN Faculty of Medicine, to later include educational establishments Access to Higher Education Program. For the development of the educational program using the virtual platforms Classroom and Zoom. Results: This program has received significant interest from both managers and participants. There were 911 registered, of which 661 completed the activity, corresponding to 72%, and 587 approved it, which corresponds to 94% of the people who completed the educational program. The training has two evaluation activities, distributed in forum and content evaluation. The forum is equivalent to 30% of the grade and the content evaluation to 70%. Conclusions: During the health contingency due to COVID.19, the need to implement this educational outreach program was seen to respond to the country's health situation. This experience allowed the development of distance health education using digital technology and innovation. Furthermore, stakeholder engagement and collaboration helped prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection and promote health promotion.
