Generally, rights and duties have been considered as comple-mentary opposites. However, the crucial dimension of care that is found precisely between both concepts does not seem to be kept in mind. If we remember that caring is related to morality, we will understand that it’s something that confronts us with what we consider that has value. Based on Kant’s statements, if duty (Sollen) is carrying of an action for respect (Achtung) to the law, then caring must be politically focused on caring for those laws that protect the right (Recht) of all, as a way to open a path towards a more conscious coexistence between us.
