Political Science in Mexico: Thoughts on its past, present and future

Abstract

This article offers a general state of affairs of the institutional conditions within which Mexican political science has evolved since its inception during the middle of the 20th century. The importance of recent work which aim at defining its contributions and future challenges is also highlighted in order to question where further influence and quality is sought in publications and teaching.
