The international economic system of the postwar generation has dissipated to a considerable degree, presenting foreign economic policies with a great variety of options within a new international economic context. In the more specific details of the economic relationship between the United States and Latin America, the latter can be observed from two different points of view: first, from the potential impact of the current global unknowns on the economic development of Latin America; and secondly, from the repetitive criticisms and / or requests for changes in the economic policy of the United States by Latin America.
