More than entering the XXI century, this Latin America is currently approaching the bicentennial of the events that led it to the great republican project, which, despite everything, has since contributed to its unification in a practice through very strong and guiding ties . Reflection on a failure of two hundred years ("gap", "development differential" proposes our title)? An outdated perspective in postmodernity, by assigning primacy to the political? In any case, an energetic and dry push towards additional reflections on the vicissitudes of this poor and not so free part of the Americas, marginal but essential. One and diverse; Disturbing but inalienable. In this work, is not intended the usual approach to deficiencies and backwardness, it is preferred to pose Latin American problems as the realization of a paradigm: democracy.
