Abstract

40 years after the writing of “The Institute of International Studies of the University of Chile”, published in 1967 in the first issue of the Journal of International Studies, its author, Claudio Véliz, refers again to the topics covered in the original article. It is in this new writing that he observes that just as the Cold War played a leading role in the world during the first twenty years of our Institute's life, during the second there has been the struggle between political, religious, economic and twilight internationalisms, and the old and new nationalisms which has monopolized the stage.
