A brief review of the historical development of Archaeozoology is provided, in particular the issue is centered on its development in the Latin American region in the past 10 years, where it is observed an exponential growth on work teams and themes. It is proposed that in the agenda for the next years the human and faunal interactions are explored in a tight relationship with Ethnozoology, since Latin America comprises a great diversity both biological and cultural, in the past and the present, in order to increase the comparative and diachronical studies.
