Abstract

In this work we propose to complement previous historiographical studies on an event known as the “meat strike”, which took place in the city of Santiago, on October 22 and 23, 1905. State repression against protesters produced hundreds of fatalities. The acts of violence extended for several days, which is why it has also been called the “red week”. The documents presented here were obtained from the Documentation Center of the Dr. Carlos Ybar Institute, under the Legal Medical Service of Chile, which contains the Autopsy Report book, between 1902 and 1906.
