The present article, identifies, describes and analyzes the medical discourse of the decade of 1960 in Chile, and the subject of illegally induced abortions, the consequences for women’s health and the hospital system. These elements are highlighted in the representation of the woman who aborts and is emphasized in the description that the medical community make about the national context to implement family planning programs with international cooperation.
