Abstract

This article proposes to analyze the breaking and transformation of the regulations and doctrinaire of the Democratic Party of Chile in separated fractions, its successive withdrawals and approximations between 1901 and 1908. The author reconstitutes detailed the internal struggle of the Chilean democrats during the first decade of the 20th century, inserting it in a long historical perspective, with a major sense that not only ends with the electoral questions. The mentioned confrontation appears in this work as a significant milestone in the emergence of new political avant guard, more in line with the structural transformations that the popular Chilean movement were experiencing.
