Abstract

The practice of occupational therapy in adult cognitive stimulation occurs mainly in the clinic, one by one with the user, the objectives aimed at improving their cortical functions. In contrast, community practices have occurred in group contexts with objectives that benefit all participants at the same time. Although we speak of 2 perspectives that, historically, have had parallel paths, we can observe how we have been constantly at a meeting point since they have an impact on their personal autonomy and favor their participation in meaningful occupations. It is a current task to find a meeting point in the intervention of the cognitive functions of the users, so that those who participate in the group activities achieve progress both at the cognitive level and at the level of their participation in the community.
