Author Guidelines

1. The works must be unpublished, with exceptions qualified by the Editorial Committee. The responsibility for its contents will correspond to those who have written them.

2. Research articles, bibliographic reviews and essays, case studies or clinical cases, systematization of practices, work on training of occupational therapists, interviews, review of journals and books, letters to the editor, Other articles, or other texts for purposes that will be published according to the Editorial Committee's criteria. Research articles, bibliographic reviews and essays, case studies or clinical cases, systematization of practices, work on training of occupational therapists, will be evaluated by the editorial committee.

3. The anonymity of the participants of the investigations, whose cases are presented and it is the responsibility of the authors, should be safeguarded to preserve the ethical aspects of the work, guaranteeing that the exposed cases have the proper informed consent.

4. Papers should be submitted in white paper, letter size (21.5 x 27.5 cm), without letterhead, margins of 3 cm, written in Word, font Times New Roman, size 12, with line spacing 1.5, justified on the left. The sheets will be numbered in the lower right corner, starting with the title page. The text should NOT be diagrammed in columns, this is a subsequent process in charge of the editorial agency.

5. The maximum extension and the number of figures and tables of the works will be the following:        

Word count begins with the Introduction (or equivalent chapter) and extends to the end of the Discussion or Conclusion (the Title page, Summary, Acknowledgments, References, Tables and Figures are excluded for the count).

6. The work should be sent through the magazine portal: via web: www.revistasuchile.cl, specifically from the following form: http://www.revistaterapiaocupacional.uchile.cl/formulario/formulario-gen.php?path = RTO  

7. Research Papers should be divided into sections entitled "Introduction" (including research objectives and theoretical framework), "Method", "Results" and "Discussion". Other types of articles, such as Case Studies or Clinical Cases, Bibliographical Review Articles and Essay, and the like may be better accommodated to other formats, which must be approved by the editors.

8. The work order will be as follows:  

8.1.- Page 1:   Titles By way of title, the name of the article, which should be concise but informative about the central content of the publication. This title must be presented in Spanish and English.

8.2.- Page 2:   Summary and keywords A summary in Spanish and English (abstract) of no more than 250 words each must be presented. Abstracts of Research articles should be structured into work objectives, the methodology used, the main findings or findings, and the most important conclusions. It should not contain non-standard abbreviations. Each abstract must end with three to five "key words" in Spanish and English (key words) respectively. These words should be selected for the Spanish index of Descriptors in Health Sciences (DeCS) coordinated by BIREME. And for English, from MESH Medical Subject Headings. Letters to the Editor, Interviews and Review of Magazines and Books must have titles in Spanish and English, but do not incorporate summaries or keywords.

8.3.- Page n ° 3   The following is the Introduction will be presented, which summarizes the rationality of the work and its relevance and clearly expresses its purposes. It contributes the antecedents that give rationality or relevance to his study. Cite only the bibliographical references that are strictly related and those expressly cited in the text. The Introduction should end with a sentence that clearly synthesizes the purpose of the study. Do not mention the results or conclusions of this study in the Introduction. If you use abbreviations, explain their meaning the first time you mention them. Articles classified as "Research Articles" should continue with the following sections:

• Method: Describe the selection of the subjects studied and the characteristics of the subjects (can use tables). Identify the methods, instruments, tools and procedures used, with the appropriate accuracy to allow other observers to replicate their results. If frequently used methods (including statistical methods) were used, just name them and cite the respective references. When the methods have been published but are not well known, provide the references and add a brief description. If the methods are new or applied modifications to established methods, describe them precisely, justify their use and state their limitations. When conducting studies on human subjects, state whether the procedures met ethical standards consistent with the Declaration of Helsinki (updated in 2013) and whether they were reviewed and approved by a Human Research Ethics Committee of the institution Conducted the study, and should identify it. The editorial committee may request letters of approval from the ethics committee.

• Results: The findings are presented, following a logical and concordant sequence between the text, tables and figures. The data can be shown in tables or figures but should be restricted to the most important. Important observations should be highlighted, the presentation of the results should not be mixed with the discussion. Present your results following a logical and concordant sequence, in the text, Tables and Figures. The data can be displayed in Tables or in Figures, but not simultaneously in both. Do not confuse the presentation of the results with your discussion.

• Discussion   It emphasizes the importance of the results for the discipline and the projections of the subject. Discuss only the new and important aspects of the presented work and the conclusions that the authors propose from them, explaining the concordances or disagreements of the findings and their limitations, comparing them with other relevant studies (identified through the respective bibliographic citations) . Connect at the end of the discussion the conclusions with the purposes of the work, highlighted in the "Introduction" and if appropriate propose the limitations of the study and projections or recommendations and / or new hypotheses. It is a discussion of the results obtained in this work and not a review of the topic. Highlight the new findings that your work brings and the conclusions you propose from them. Do not repeat in detail the data you showed in "Results". Refer clearly to the fulfillment of the objectives of the work referred to in the "Introduction".  

8.4.- Indicate source of funding, if any. Specify whether or not the organization that provided it had any influence on the study design; In the collection, analysis or interpretation of the data; In the preparation, revision or approval of the manuscript.

8.5.- In acknowledgments, recognition will be expressed only to individuals or institutions that made fundamental contributions to the work.

8.6.- Bibliographical references are limited to those cited in the text. Located at the end of it. References will be identified according to APA 7 standards. The use of bibliographic reference managers is suggested to perform this section with the required quality. 

• Symposium directed by Name of the Organizing Institution, Place.

• The Thesis: Last name, A., & Last name, A. (Year). Thesis title (Thesis of undergraduate, masters or doctoral). Name of Institution, Place. Recovered from www.example.com.

8.7.- Appendix, or attachment (optional). It can be useful in case the detailed description of a material can distract from the text of the work.

8.8.- Each Table or Figure shall be quoted in the text, in consecutive order and accompanied by a clear title, and an explanatory note below the figure or table. Following the APA Standard 7 for Tables and Figures. In case of publishing photographs, it is the responsibility of the authors to obtain authorization from the persons whose photographs are published.

8.9.- All material received for publication will be reviewed and approved only if it complies with the requirements described. All articles that are received in the Journal will not be returned to the author (s).

8.10.- The Editorial Committee may decide, exceptionally, the publication of works that do not comply with these norms.

8.11.- Once approved or rejected, will be communicated to the main author.

8.12.- The Editorial Committee of the Journal reserves the right to make minor modifications to the work, which do not affect the purpose or substantial content of the work.

8.14.- Last page   *Title of publication   *The name of the author (s), identifying them with:

1. Full Name

2. Academic degrees that it possesses with indication of the University that granted it

4. Primary Affiliation Institution (include google school profile if available).

5. Number of ResearchedID and ORCID.   ResearcherID is a unique identifier that allows researchers to solve the problem of author ambiguity within their academic research communities. This identifier also allows you to manage your publication lists, keep track of your citation times and index h, identify possible collaborators and avoid errors in author identification. Http://www.researcherid.com/Home.action.   ORCID is a global system for the unequivocal identification of researchers or authors of scientific publications, which, apart from being able to distinguish and be recognized, serves as a space for recording their data and works and, if they wish, to share them. It is reported that each article will be subject to a formal revision to see if it meets the publication standard. In case of requiring adjustments, the authors will have 10 working days to respond to this adjustment. The process will be terminated, if it complies with the norm and / or if there is no response from the authors on 2 occasions. Once the submission complies with the publication standard, it is derived for assignment by their respective external reviewers, in double blind condition.
