Author Biography

Rafael Rojas, Centro de Estudios Históricos

Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Havana and a PhD in History from El Colegio de México. He specializes in Latin America's intellectual, political, and diplomatic history in the 19th and 20th centuries. Level II researcher in the National System of Researchers (SNI). He is a full member of the Mexican Academy of History and serves on the editorial boards of Istor, Cuban Studies, and Letras Libres. He is the director of the journal Historia Mexicana. He has received the Matías Romero Prize for Diplomatic History (1999), the Anagrama Prize (2006), and the Isabel de Polanco Prize (2009).
