Abstract

This work tries to carry out a general revision of some concepts that allow you to go into in the complexity of the juvenile phenomenon. So much from the perspective of its' integration in the society', like from the construction of the juvenile identity. It is looked for at the same time to put in context the contents of this revision in our Chilean reality: centering us in the phenomena that constitute our biggest interest: the youth and the secondary education. From the analysis of the phenomenon of the school failure and of the social inadaptation; it is suggested that the organization of the high schools like autonomous and responsible communities, is the indispensable requirement, from our perspective, to achieve the true curricular and administrative autonomy at local level, one of the declared objectives of the current process of educational reform.
