Peer Review Process

Acta Bioethica publishes studies and review articles about topics of bioethics, such is, ethical problems and dilemmas derived from techno scientific breakthroughs in contemporary society, be in scientific research, biomedicine, law, public health or other fields. It is addressed to professionals, researchers and academics from each specialty, even though it does not exclude public specially interested.

Every issue addresses a bioethics monographic topic, including other articles of varied topics related to the field as well (interfaces).

Authors submit their articles spontaneously or by editorial request, and these are submitted to review by a committee constituted to this effect. The time frame to publish the articles accepted is subjected to the availability of each section and the opportunity in relation to the correspondent monographies.

Open Access Policy

Acta Bioethica provides immediate free access to its content under the principle that making available research to public in a free way supports greater exchange for global knowledge.

Authors must commit to deposit USD 1,500 in an account that will be informed, once the article submitted for evaluation is accepted for publication.

Archiving

Acta Bioethica uses LOCKSS system to create an archive distributed among participant libraries, allowing to such libraries to create journal permanent archives with the goal of preservation and restoration.
