The author discusses the appearance of sociology as a science dealing with the relations between the members of human groups. Its analyses of concluct in clifferent kinds of societies is emphasizecl in clase relationship with their culture, which is largely a product of social adivity. The author includes observatiom on socialization, the role, inte raction, and social strata, as well as the problem of d eviate behaviour, together with final reflexions on the theory and methodology of sociology, as well as on the importance of the profession al efforts of the sociologist to solve problems of collective life.
